Should you apply the new Duqu workaround?

Should you apply the new Duqu workaround?

    By Robert Vamosi

A new Microsoft Fix it addresses the underlying vulnerability exploited by a new virus but the fix also causes problems.

Although we'd ordinarily jump on a needed malware remedy, in this case we're probably better off waiting for the full patch, expected soon.

Given that nearly all the major antivirus companies now offer protection and removal for DuQu, I think the advice to simply avoid opening email attachments without first downloading and scanning them is sufficient. There does not appear to be much of a threat to consumers. Businesses will take care of the new threat in the usual ways. Even a patch seems to be going a bit overboard at this time.
