Unhappy Signing on to an encrypted router with Windows xP Home

I have a Toshiba laptop with Windows XP Home. I'm trying to connect wirelessly to a Cisco router on a corporate network. The access
encryption code is 55 digits in length and I can't get Windows to accept a code with that many characters so that I can onto the router.
Is it because I'm using Windows Home version? Is there an upgrade that will help? Will I have more success if I upgrade to Windows XP
    Professional?
