Outlook 2007 search: still not working!

I have rebuilt the index twice, index shows as fully completed, but I still cannot get the email search function to work in Outlook 2007 & I have also repaired Office 2007 install & still can't fix it ?
Still getting "no matches found" when there are matches there - help please !

Do you have the 2007 Microsoft Filter Pack installed?

Yes I do have the filter pack installed & still I cant get it to work, - so frustrating when you have to search all your email folders manually !

Doesn't solve your problem, but can be an alternative. I use it, because I never liked the way search worked in Outlook - try Xobni. The free version will index a single pst file.

If you check the search indexer settings does the .msg file type have a filter associated with it?

Depends on the OS you are using.

Go to the Start Orb. Type "search index" into the search bar. Click on "Change how Windows searches". Click on the Advanced button. Click on the File types tab. Scroll down to .msg.

Did you use that same dialog box to rebuild the index?

Have you run scanpst.exe? Sometimes a problem with an Outlook data file can cause search index issues.

I have already run scanpst.exe which found a couple of minor issues, but the search still does not work ?
So I will now complete the Fixing Instant Search to see if that changes anything.
    Thanks Joe
