About cleaning out old Restore Points -- CCleaner has a tool which can allow you to save as many or as few System Restore Points as you choose. I use this tool to remove those extra Restore Points created whenever software is updated, removed or reinstalled. Those can really add up to a lot of wasted disk space, unlike the Restore Points which precede major Windows Updates installations. Those I try to keep around for awhile. Selective removal (with the CCleaner tool) of unnecessary Restore Points is a normal part of my Windows XP and Windows 7 system maintenance routines.
