    Annoying popup

When I read a thread and try to go back to the forum, I get a popup that asks if I want to "leave this page".

When I hit the back button, I expect to go back, not to have to click "ok".

I can't find any way to turn this off.

Thanks for any help you may provide.

I've noticed this on occassion as well, but not every time. Perhaps an administrator or inet person can check this. I will post this in the VIP section as well.

We are now in the process of checking out the popup. We've not heard of it being a frequent occurrence prior to now. Hope to have some specific feedback soon.

I have seen the popup, it appears if you click or type anything in the reply box on a thread - it is asking you if you want to finish the message you might have been trying to type before leaving the page and losing what it was you were trying to say. It is a feature of vbulletin 4.X.

On old versions of vbulletin 3.X, it was possible to be typing a very long reply to a thread, then accidentally hit the back button or accidentally click on a new link - when that would happen, you would lose what you were trying to type and have to start over.

Matt, thanks for the explanation. Hopefully this explains what the OP has been seeing.

By the way, I hate popups. The thread title got my attention as I was eager to look into what may be causing a popup here. This one however is fairly useful to ensure you don't lose a post you were working on, and it shouldn't be occurring very often unless you often start typing and change your mind.

I actually think the popup is useful. I have seen it a couple times.
