What could possibly be wrong with that? I always set up FF with Google as the default (and ONLY) browser and iGoogle as the home page, with Weather, News and a Hamster! rofl

    Works just fine for me!

    Happy 2012 Everyone!

IMO, Google continues to support FF because they don't want Justice suing them. They already hold a virtual monopoly on search advertising. They don't want to look like their Chrome browser killed off puny little competitor FF. So it's worth the relatively little small amount of money they donate to Mozilla while they make much more off of Chrome.

It's fine to use Google as the default search engine in FF. Just use the add-on "OptimizeGoogle" to bring it under control, suppress unwanted ads, etc. It works with 9.0.1 and all previous versions of FF.

HAMSTER!!!!! Thanks DrWho, my day is officially wrecked, as are those of all my colleagues (and as its the top gadget on iGoogle, probably the entire world economy is going down real soon).

    I love iGoogle

Several months ago I moved to Bing as default search on Firefox. Obviously I'm in the minority here, but you really ought to give it a fair trial.
