Google as the default search engine pinned to task bar

I want Google as my default search engine; I also want to pin a Google shortcut to the task bar.

Google searching [ http://lifehacker.com/5382578/pin-an...dows-7-taskbar ] told me to add 'explorer' in front of the shortcut and then it could work.

I *thought* Google was my default search engine, but, when I followed those instructions, I ended up with

    http://www.bing.com/search?q=explore....com&src=ie9tr

Bing is OK, but first, I want Google as my default, and secondly, that ain't gonna pin Google to the task bar.

So is what I want to do possible? Do I use different steps if I'm using Firefox [9] as my default browser?

I feel like I have my foot in several WOPR dB's at the same time here...sorry, but I didn't know which to post to either...

    Regards,

You could pin Google to the task bar but I find it always ends up in (right click) IE, if IE is already pinned to the taskbar.
Drag and drop google to the taskbar yields this...

The above might work in FF.

Seems Clint, like it's a case of getting caught in the crossfire of the browser wars!

    Thanks,
