I used to get email notification of replies to my posts and that is not happening now. What do I need to do to start that up again???

Hi ExiledMainer,
Click 'Settings' tab on top right of this page, then the 'General Settings' tab.
Thanks, Roderunner! I have set up to receive instant email notifications!
Just testing it for you.
Roderunner-
Thanks, but I did not get an email notification. I went to "Settings/General Settings", and then in "Messaging & Notification" both "Receive Email from Administrators" and "Receive Email from Other Members" are checked and have checked the box to receive notifications "Instantly, using email". Private messaging is also enabled. I thought that would solve the issue, but apparently not!
Check your Spam or Junk folder in your mail account.
Roderunner-
I use Mailwasher Pro the check my email before downloading to my Outlook 2007 email client to sift out the spam/junk mail and nothing has appeared there either. (BTW, I very much like your Bobby Burns quote!)
Thanks EM, What is your email account type? hotmail or gmail ????
Roderunner-
I have used MS Outlook for many years and am presently using Outlook 2007.

Re: "email account type", I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for. I have a POP3 email account (e-mail address) with Charter Communications using Outlook 2007, not Hotmail or Gmail, as my email client.

That's the part I was looking for, charter.net, it's your account type. Please remove from your post. Did you access your account directly to check spam/junk folders.
Changing your preference to instant email notification only affects new threads you participate in after you make that setting, it does not affect notifications on past threads.
You can check your notification status on a specific thread by going to "Thread Tools>Subscribe to this Thread". I'd first make sure you are subscribed to a specific thread, then see if once you confirm that, and someone posts in that thread, if you get an email notice.
The notification system here is working properly. But sometimes deliverability is not good due to spam filters or other problems. If you still don't get email notices, you may want to try using an account other than your charter.net email account.
By the way, I removed your email address from your forum post - automated robots scrape email addresses when they are posted publicly on the internet like that, so it will increase the amount of spam people try to send to you. If you ever need to share an email address publicly on the internet, it is best to not post the actual email exactly. Something like email -at- example.com would be safer to avoid being targeted by spammers.

Matt-
Thanks for removing my address! Lost my head there for a minute when I posted it in the clear!
