    Does anyone have CCleaner suggestions?

I use Crap Cleaner ver 3.14.1616 with the default check marks for cleaning that the install did/used. To date, I haven't added any other options/checked more open box's for added cleaning.

What is the best or better yet --- what are you guy's checking on or off ??

    Jag,

I wouldn't dare to tell you what is best for your situation. This is a highly personal decision and depends heavily on what settings you have in your browsers, etc.

FYI: Here is what I use...YMMV!

Not using it at all? Sorry, if that's not what you were expecting.

    Retiredgeek;
Thanks for taking the time to post these pics --- appreciate it.

Your options or listings are a little different than mine, we must have different versions of CC but very helpful.

As RG suggests, these are my settings, but you have to use what works for you. These settings do not cause me any grief! I have the latest version of CCleaner. You options might be different because you have different apps installed on your PC.

    CCleaner1.jpg CCleaner2.jpg CCleaner3.jpg

You can see the majority of the apps I use and what I clean on these apps.

I do not use FF so I did not show the FF section as it is blank.

    Your welcome Jagworld,
here's an image for CCleaner's Registry tab. It was recommended by someone more experienced than me.

Thanks to all of you for this discussion. I have never been quite sure what to mark and what not to mark, and find the 'instructions' on Piriform's site a bit vague in some areas.

I'll study all this a lot more and hopefully run my ship a bit a tighter.

The only proviso I would add to the above postings is to be cautious about cleaning browser items if you use data between sessions on some sites. Examples are keep me logged in, max times to solve puzzle sites etc. My wife and I like to keep track of best times for solving a Suduko at Web Sudoku - Billions of Free Sudoku Puzzles to Play Online . Haven't been able to zero in on where the user data is kept, so I don't clear out browser data. Haven't seen any problems with browser response times, have more disk space than I know what to do with, so I don't bother cleaning browser data. As RG said, what you choose to clean is personal.

You can always try the various options and see how they impact you. The only options that could conceivably cause major damage is the registry cleaner. This is the one area that evokes major disagreements. Some swear by registry cleaners (including CC's) and some swear at them. Personally, I don't use any registry cleaner on the "if it isn't broke, don't fix it" principal but you will find many that do.

Haven't used that. I'll try that out if which 1 is better with what I'm using. I've been using TuneUp Utilities 2010 for months now. Awesome software.. Have any of you guys tried it?
