Keybord clicks but no letters, numbers, response even with several keyboards

Suddenly when using external keyboard, nothing appears on computer. Tried several Wired and wireless keyboards--they work on other computers. Typing this with on screen keyboard. Rebooted, uninstalled and re-installed drivers, etc, It must be a sofrware or Windows 7 issue. Anyone have a solution? Thanks very much!

?Did you check to see if the keyboards were working correctly under Properties in Device Manager?
I wonder if this could be an "upperfilter" (code 39) error.

I assume you use a USB port for both your wired and wireless keyboards. Are there any errors under USB controllers in device manager? You could try reloading the latest chipset drivers for your PC.

Thanks for the reply. The keyboard showed up as working properly in the Device Manager. Also other keyboards I tried on the computer, appeared properly, but had the same problem!

No everything was working properly. No error messages. Tried different USB ports, etc.

Miraculously after a series of restarts, total shutdowns, unplugging the computer which I did over the New Year's weekend, the keyboard started to work properly again! If anyone has an explanation to prevent it from happening again, I would appreciate it. No answers I could find on Google--others have had the same problem, or on the Microsoft KB. Thanks to all!

Does anyone else have access to this PC? Could someone changed the font color to match the backgound color?
