Office 2000 MS word toolbar problem

I had Stamps.com installed in my PC for many years. Recently, I uninsalled it and I cannot figure out how to get rid of the stamps.com menu choice in the 'Tools' dropdown. The vendor could not figure it out either. I just need to know what file or what part of the registry holds those choices so I can delete it. Thank you, Rudy

A first thing to try would be to see if you can remove the item from the menu manually.

To do this: Right-click on any toolbar and then click on 'Customize' which is at the bottom of the dropdown menu (or else go to Tools > Customize).
A 'Customize' dialog box will appear - but in this case you can ignore it.
Instead, click on the 'Tools' menu item on the toolbar itself, and then drag the Stamps menu item off of the dropdown - once it's over empty space away from the toolbar, release the mouse - this will remove the item from the dropdown.
Finally, click Close on the Customize dialog.

If the Stamps add-in has really been uninstalled, then the manual removal of the menu item should stick. If the Stamps menu item reappears the next time you quit and then restart Word, then there's more sleuthing to do.

For future reference, this might be one of those cases where an uninstaller such as Revo Uninstaller would have found and removed the leftover stuff for you. Plus a cleanup tool such as CCleaner might help to elliminate leftover stuff (use cautiously, evaluate what you are removing before doing so)
