    Adding Minutes and Seconds In Excel

    Please see the attached spreadsheet. I need to add up seconds and minutes together but cannot work it out on how how to do it.

    Your help is much appreciated

    • Copy this formula: =VALUE(CONCATENATE("0:",SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(B2," m ",":"),"s",""))) into cell C2.
    • Format C2 as Time {hh:mm:ss}
    • Copy down to the Total row.
    • Delete the CONTENTS of Col C on Total row.
    • Hit the Summation icon on the toolbar and press Enter.

    A slightly shorter formula would be:

    =VALUE("0:"&SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(B2,"m ",":"),"s",""))
