new chart hid my worksheets

Hi,
i have an excel file with an existing chart and two worksheets. today i wanted to create a new chart so I inserted a new chart in the tabs at the bottom next to the first chart and the two worksheets.
the new chart filled the screen, but i can't find my worksheets (or the other chart). there are no tabs at the bottom that one normally sees in excel.
So the only thing on the screen is the blank chart square. The ribbons at the top have the "chart tools" and all the other ribbons, but none seem to get me back to the worksheets.
I closed out and reopened, but it returned my to the chart screen.

using office 2010.

Is File - options - advanced - show sheet tabs unchecked? [near the middle in the Display options]

Check it to see the sheet tabs

hi Steve,
the box was checked. but after i reopened it again today, the sheets tabs were there at the bottom, so I'm back to good. Only thing i can figure is something was messed up on the orientation of the screen and shutting down/restarting cleared up the bug.
