    Question help, Says this update failed ,what do I need to do ?

    Thanks for looking ....as above ,do I have to do anything ,if so what and how do I find out what I must do .

    Do you have another antivirus program active on your computer? If so, you should disable Windows Defender (WD) in Control Panel. If not, I would suggest getting one. Microsoft Security Essentials is a good one and free. I believe that it disables WD when it installs. Other AV programs may not do this. If you want to keep WD as your only active security program, you can try a manual update or wait for the next automatic update and if it is successful, you do not need to worry about the failed one as definition updates can be missed occasionally.     Does you experience any update errors with MSE? This Microsoft Answers thread on MSE might be helpful in resolving the Error Code 800705B4.
