    Hyperlinks in Footnotes?

Is it possible? (Office Prof -> Word 2010)

When I create a footnote (References -> Insert Footnote) and then select some text in that note to insert a Hyperlink (Insert tab -> Hyperlink) the Hyperlink tab is greyed out making it impossible to insert the link.

It works as per usual in my Word 2010 so perhaps there is something else going on with your document.

Can you create the hyperlink in the body of the document and then paste it into the footnote?

Yes that worked! It happens that the text in the footnote were I wanted to insert the link was not selected after all. I should have been more attentive to that.
