    Offline modifications (A2K / W2K)

I have a database with FE/BE configuration. We have a sales group that needs to take some of this data off line to their laptop while they are traveling. They will be changing and or adding records while on the road. I need to incorporate any changes to the data when they come back to the office. Has anyone done this sort of thing before.

    Thanks,
    Mark

This is what briefcase replication was designed for. You put a copy of the front end on the laptop and then drag the backend to the briefcase to give them a current replica. Read up on replication and check the knowledgebase for any gotchas with Win2k and replication. Also do a search here. Replication has been discussed many times.

Is there a way to do this with limited data? The data file is 70MB after compression/repair. What they need to take with them is a relatively small set of data.

    Thanks,

Check the Microsoft site for the partial replica wizard. You're going to have to read up on replication though, and check the other threads here that discussed it.
