home network - XP to Win7 Access denied

My Win 7 comp can access all files on my Xp computer on my Home network. My XP computer can access Public files and the shared printer. When I try to Access shared files I get an Access denied popup. I do not use passwords.
Why is Access denied? Do I have to use user groups or passwords to get access?

You may have to set your sharing on your Win 7 PC. How To Geek has a pretty good article on networking XP and Win 7.

Among other things, you'll need to go into Win7's "Advanced sharing settings" and change "Password protected sharing" to "Turn off".
