    Unhappy Personalize Desktop Background

    I can no longer select any of the personalized desktop backgrounds. I have a black desktop background. Any ideas on how to enable personalized backgrounds again? Thanks you!

    Hello D. You do not say how you are going about this. I go via Control Panel -> Personalization -> then at the bottom left, you will see a blue lettered Desktop Background, two-click it and then find your path to your picture. Let me know ! JP.

    DCori, Welcome to the Lounge as a new poster.

    When did this problem begin? Can you do a system restore to before the problem stsrted, or even better use an Image to restore to a point to before the problem started?

    Is Windows activated?

    I believe Windows 7 can turn the desktop black if there are activation problems.

    Another possibility is "Remove desktop images" under Ease of Access Center, Make the Computer easier to see:
