    Multiple Versions of C++ Visual

    If see and read the threads about why there may be multiple versions if the Visual C++ Redistributable on a Windows system, and obviously the uninstall logic of an app can't uninstall these because another app may be using it.

    However, is there some way to identify what apps use what version of the C++?

    This was frustrating me as well as I had about 7 of them installed.

    I removed them all via Control Panel, ignored the warnings that some programs might need them.

    First program that needed them just prompted for a download which installed and everything else seems to work fine.

    I got the impression that each program will install its own redistributable as it's easier than to to rely on another.

    Probably not the best way to do it but ...

    Actually did the same for all the java libraries, now just have one.

    I leave them all alone. They do no harm and I'd rather not find something not working when I may need it.
