    Outlook 2010 - Can't change and save

Every time I try to change an email and then save it I get the following message:

"The item cannot be saved because it was changed by another user or in another window. Do you want to make a copy in the default folder for the item?"

I'm not sure why this is happening. Any help would be appreciated.

    Found this at http://www.codetwo.com/kb/how-to-avo...t-be-saved/100

From time to time, when modifying an item in Personal Folders in Outlook, the following error appears:
The item could not be saved because it has been changed by another user or in another window. Do you want to make a copy in the default folder for the item?

To prevent this dialog box from appearing, make sure that you save your item using Save & Close button (Fig.1). If you save and item using a traditional save button and continue editing it without closing its window, it is possible for the above-mentioned error to appear.

Thanks but I don't have that option. This is what I have:

When I try file > save I get the same error.

Rather than saving the changed message, just try closing it. You should get a "do you want to save changes..." message.

I get the same message when I close. It asks me if I want to save since I changed it. If I say yes, I get the message.

Interestingly, if I say no and close the message the reopen it, change it and close it, it will save it and close without problems.

Does it happen when you start Outlook in safe mode?

'You can open any Office or Office family program in Office Safe Mode by pressing CTRL while you start the program"

No it doesn't. When I try to close the email after a change, it just closes. No prompt about saving. If I reopen it, the changes are there.

Sounds like an add on is interfering then. You might try disabling them one at a time to find the culprit. if you have a lot of them, disable half to determine which group the offending add on is in and work from there.
