That is quite a change from the Win 8 DP. The desktop UI still had the button. There will still be a hot spot that will function as the Start area. I guess we'll have to wait and see. I am looking forward to the Win 8 CP to see how many changes from the Win 8 DP.

I can already envision the end-users complaining about this. "Where's the start menu" and so on... :|

Windows 8 has a feeling of the Windows Vista debacle to me. A huge UI change that many will shy from until they get it force fed with a new PC.

Maybe they will replace it with a Shutdown button, and use that instead for both Start and Shutdown? There's already a precedent for that...!

phoey. I can work around it, restore A start button, etc, but I can't kill metro. The reg hack and the .dll rename that worked in dev prev don't in con prev. the shell dll has a diff name and I am not certasin what would happen if I renamed it. Good and no bad in dev prev but I cant afford a gamble here. win 7 don't run here no more its too damn inefficient and the video card heat sink fan died. with win8 it don't care cause win8 actually works. First one since win 3.11 that did IMHO.
