We no longer need to 'delete' anything, once it "is out there" it "is forever".

Highlight it with your mouse and then press the 'Delete' key on the keyboard.

    or:

Right click on it and click Delete from the Right Click drop down Context menu

What are the properties and security settings for the file? Is it Read Only? Anything in the security tab prevent modification of the file?

Try clicking on the "open file location" option and see if you can delete it there rather than in the Library display. I assume you also tried the Dr"s suggestion of highlight the file and press delete.

I wonder, if MS gives prizes, trophies or bonuses to the programmer that can come up with the most complex way to do a simple chore.

If that's the case, then the guy who screwed up Solitaire should be driving a new Ferrari. Eh?
Because, that was a real Hack Job.

    Sorry I wasn't more help.

Its probably the same guy who decided to hide all the simple tools needed in WLM 2011.

Well this is sorta interesting. On the iPhone occasionally if I use the "all inbox" I can't delete something but if I go to the individual account folder I can delete it. Must somehow be related to the fake emails they store links to in the libraries.

My vote is to get rid of libraries and be done with it. Seems to me, with my limited understanding of Windows 7, that that was evidently a genius idea that resulted from their putting My Documents at the top of the folder tree in XP.

Then, if I understand the folder system in Windows 7 correctly, they "improved" upon it by putting "libraries" up there plus the entire individual user's folder, which seems to really be a library of what's stored down below in c:/ Or maybe I just still don't get how they structure the file system. OK I know this is off topic for this section so will stop griping here about it <g>.
