Including labelled lines in a line chart

    Hi folks,

I'm a Word geek, not an Excel guy, so forgive me if this one's easy and I'm just ignorant.

My colleague has to create 30 separate line charts. Each chart needs special lines at 0.9 and 0.5 to represent the Lower Limit of Normal and the Study Cutoff Limit respectively. I could create these lines by inserting manual lines and text boxes, but it's inelegant and the manual objects don't shift with resizes, etc.

What's the right way to do this?

    TIA,

    Beej

The simplest is to add two series to each line chart where each data point is the same:

    Date.....Real Series......Lower Limit......Study Cutoff

    1/1........0.3................0.5................0.9

    1/2........0.7...............0.5.................0.9

and so on and so on...

    end date....1.4........... 0.5..............0.9

Typically you might format the Lower Limit and Study Cutoff line as dashed lines

You can add them as separate ranges in the plot. Add a column (or row depending on the datasetup) with just the 0.9 and another with the 0.5 and add these as new ranges in the dataset and they will plot alongside the data with the same x-Axis categories in the sourceSteve
