Mine is not HTTPS, it is HTTP only. I just checked. Don't bang your head. If you are like me you might damage your last remaining brain cell! LOL

I suppose it's possible that is causing the problem, but that does seem unlikely. This is a wierd problem. Hmmm. I am presently out of ideas. I hope someone out there smarter than me can find some other answers. Sorry.

    Ted,
I think you, I, and the OP might be talking at cross-purposes, probably my fault. The POP folder I described was in the Hotmail web page. I looked up a user on whose page I'd seen it and she kindly let me take a couple of screenshots. The first has a brief description, and the second is the settings page for the folder.

OK, I see. I believe Giddy was talking about a Pop folder in his WLM client, not on his Hotmail page. It is a strange phenomena which I cannot offer a solution for unfortunately. I do not think it affects the operation of his WLM, just is frustrating not knowing why it's happening.

Ted is right. I have no trouble in WLM handling my email. I do not have to open any browser nor have any browser connected to WLM. This sub POP folder under my Inbox seems to have caused me no trouble either. Just worried why it got there and the posted message when I try to delete the POP folder.
I checked my online hotmail account setting at the very first and then just now again. I still see nothing in my hotmail settings that would cause this folder to be created.
I have used hotmail for many years, without any trouble I could not handle, except this one.
Thank you for all your input!.

I just checked my WLM account. The POP folder (Only one under my Inbox) is there also. When I click on it to open it, there is nothing there, just the one line message from WLM printing "You have a really clean folder".
Question, since there is nothing there except this one liner, do you think I can relax and delete this folder?

Thank you for your time for your post. I know you spent a lot of time in trying to help with the screen shot and your visit to your user friend.

I would delete the Pop folder in Hotmail since it is empty. It might just delete the folder in WLM when they sync. That is probably why the Pop folder is showing up in WLM, because it is in Hotmail and the 2 systems (I use this for lack of a better word) sync when you sign onto WLM. That may be the answer.

    YW, it's no trouble.

Yes, I think the folder only shows up if you've told your email client to leave copies of emails on the server. I can see the rationale: if you check your mail on another computer using the web, it separates the ones you've already downloaded. And, as you say, WLM syncs with the server, so it shows up there too.

OP, I reckon you can just delete it.

It is very easy to create a folder under the Hotmail site, but I had to Hunt to find where you could delete a folder.

I deleted the Pop sub folder and It also deleted my Inbox folder too, at least it was not showing up. I tried to recreate the Inbox folder but was told that it was not possible.

Under the Hotmail site I got no warnings about the POP folder to be deleted as I did under WLM, only asking If I was sure and that all email in that folder would be lost.

I closed out Hotmail and reopened it. My Inbox folder was back with still unread emails.

I went to my WLM and the POP folder was also gone there too.

I sent and received emails under WLM with my Hotmail site. All working!

Yep! the answer seems to be to delete the POP sub folder under the Hotmail site.

I very much appreciate all the advice and help you all gave me. You all have MADE MY DAY!!! THANK YOU!
