Firefox update & Add-On
I just opened Firefox 10.0.1 and a message appeared that read: Install Add-on. Another program on your computer would like to modify Firefox with the following add-on: Java Console 6.0.31.
I did not install the add-on, I wanted to ask here if I need Java Console at all? I have no idea what the console does, so I hardly need the modification.
FYI: I run Windows 7 64-bit; IE9; & Google Chrome.
Next, I checked for updates in Firefox and was told to Apply Update, it didn't reveal the version of the update (I believe it's update 10.0.2). Is there an update and is it for the version I just named?

Unless you do Java programming/development or debug Java applets on web pages, you do not need Java Console. Removing the Java Console extensions has no effect on the functioning of Java for web browsing. You can see, but not remove, the Java Console extensions in Add-ons > Extensions. Java Console extensions can be safely removed manually by following the instructions in this article: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Java#Multi...ole_extensions
