Footnote space after number

I need to get Word 97 to NOT put the space after the footnote number in the footnote text. Is there a way to configure Word to leave that off?

Not unless it can be done in VBA. However, you could record a simple macro and put it on a toolbar that inserts the footnote and then backspaces to remove the space...

    Re: Footnote space after number

    Well, that's a royal bummer.

I think I advocate the organization adopt a new standard for footnotes -- to ring in the new millenium, hence forth and forthwith, etc. etc. etc., whereas bla bla bla, we hereby declare, etc. etc. etc.

    Resolved.

I'll see your resolution, and raise you two henceforths and insofar as clauses.

At least it's a simple recorded macro, and not something you would need a guru to do.
