    Running Sum in Report

Access 97: I have a report grouped by Social Security Number. In the detail sections I have a field called DollarValue. In the footer of the SSN group, I want to display the total of all DollarValue's for each SSN.

I interpreted the instructions in the help file to mean just place a field in the footer of the SSN group band, set its control source to DollarValue, and set the Running Sum property to Over Group.

It just displays the first value of the DollarValue field, so obviously I misinterpreted the help file instructions.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Re: Running Sum in Report

I know it isn't logical, but if you put =Sum([DollarValue]) in a field in the group footer and set the running sum to none, it should work.
