    New to Firefox

Actually I haven't got it yet. Everyone keeps telling me it's better than IE but from what I've been reading here, I'm beginning to wonder, seems like it has lots of problems too. On top of that, it sounds like it's more complicated with all this addon stuff. So what I'm getting at is, is there such a thing as a 'Beginners Guide' for Firefox?

I currently have IE 9, Windows 7, 64 bit, on an eMachine, 2 weeks old.

    Thanks

IMHO the big 3 are very similar. I use IE 9 as default in Win 7 with Chrome as backup. In Win 8 CP I use IE 10 as default again with Chrome as backup. I have used FF in the past but gave up on it during early v3. Chrome seems a little faster than IE 9, but I'm comfortable with IE 9 and Chrome has some things that I can't seem to adjust to. I have not heard of any Beginner's Guide. You might try a Google search for that.

A beginners guide to Firefox? Netscape Navigator that was, quite some time ago K-Meleon might be considered the stepping stone.

Basically, Firefox is the more configurable of those 3 browsers that Ted mentions, therefore there is more to learn - if you need a configurable browser.

Try us, describe what you need from a browser and we'll try to match a browser to your needs.

    Thanks guys.
@Ted . . . where's your pic? none here now but a couple minutes ago before I logged in, there was a new one, different than when I started thread.
@satrow . . . don't really 'need' anything, it's just that some friends & family have suggested that FF is safer than IE.
I am careful about where I go & am not 'click happy'. I do have WOT, think it was the 1st app. I installed on this new PC.

Decided to put a different, slightly less formal pic up for a while. I look a little slimmer in this one. More relaxed (I was half in the bag I think )
