This is a tutorial on fundamental Win8 usage.

The comments from readers that follow the tutorial also make for very interesting reading.

I'm hoping that there will be a "classic view" option in the win8.
Anyone know if this will be part of what is shipped as win 8 ?
If not I hope that the "after market" will have one for download.

It is highly unlikely that Microsoft will provide any "classic view". There may be third party software that does this.

    Cool

There is already 3rd party software to restore the START orb and start menu in Win-8/PP, but when I installed that my browsers went to H*** in a handbasket. I had to do a complete re-install to clean up the mess. Now I just go fishing for what I want and then put it on my Desktop. My Win-8 desktop now closely resembles my XP desktop. I even have my Quick Shutdown Icon in the lower left corner for a 5 second shutdown.
