Purging Duplicate Firefox Bookmarks and then Reorganizing

I have many Firefox bookmarks that I imported from previous computers. Needless to say, there are LOTS of duplicates, and I desperately need to do a scan-and-purge, followed by a complete reorganization.

It's unbelieveably clutzy to drag links around the list. Is there an editor with a word-processor-like interface that I can use to find duplicates and drag things around?

I can export the bookmarks to an HTML file, edit them in, say, Notepad++ and then import them back. Is there a better way?
