    Start Task manager with a mouse

    If you want to start Task Manager and don't want to move your hands from the mouse to the keyboard, right click on a blank spot on the task bar and a menu will pop up that includes Task Manager.

    By the way, the new task manager has a feature that shows your boot start up entries and gives the relative impact of each entry - high, medium, and low,
    This allows you to disable the entries that have the most impact on start up time while ignoring the low impact items.

    That's the normal way I start task manager in Windows 7

    Nice to see some of the old shortcuts are still there.

    Yes, absolutely, can access TM there/that way. And, yep, the new Task Manager is one of the cool(er) things in Win8.
