    Clean install from OEM Win2k

Befiore I reformat my hard drive, I'd better ask: Because I have an OEM installation of Win2k, my Windows disk is a "system restoration disc," not exactly the same as a Win2k disk (?). If I want to do a clean install of XP using an upgrade disc, will my "system restoration disc" qualify when the installation asks me for qualifying media?

    No

You must have a retail Windows 98, 98 SE, Millennium Edition (Me), NT 4.0, or 2000 CD-ROM, Full Version or Upgrade, to qualify for the Windows XP upgrade versions. Restore CDs from PC makers do not qualify.
