    Start Menu Options

In Woody's recent article about the Start Menu, he noted that with Win 7, the start menu is now an orb instead of the traditional square. In going on to discuss changes that can be made, Woody noted that even the orb could be changed but in the first article didn't get to explaining how.

I hadn't paid much attention to the shape until I realized that my start menu was the old square box, but on my wife's side of the computer, it was the orb. I must have have done something that resulted in the change, but I'll be darned if I know what. This isn't a big deal, but I'd like to get the orb back. Anyone know how?

You have probably switched to the "Classic" theme.
    To fix:

    1. Right-click: on empty part of desktop.
    2. Click: Personalize
    3. Select: The theme of your choice.
    4. Save

You're right. That's apparently what I did, but after going back, I can see now why I did it. I really don't like the default desktop, so I'll live with the square start menu. Thanks for your quick response!

Using the 'Classic' theme helps to speed up slower computers.
