    Screensaver Failure

I am running Windows XP SP3 and frequently my screensaver does not kick in. It is set to operate after 5 minutes of inactivlty and also the monitor is set to shut down after 10 minutes. But sometimes my monitor stays where I left it overnight. Any ideas?

The latest Adobe Flash update adds an automatic update service. Maybe that is a cause. Something is running or being started by the task scheduler which is prohibiting the screensaver from starting. Have you used Task Manager to check the running processes?

Yes, I have been known to run Task Manager, usually to kill non-responding programs. I do not have the faintest idea of how ro interpret the running processes.
