    The New NVIDIA GTX 680

Hard OCP has gotten around to reviewing the latest NVIDIA GTX 680 offering.
Very decent card for under 500 dollars, if any of you shrubs can afford it.

You could buy quite an adequate PC system unit or a laptop for that price! It's all a matter of priorities...

    CLiNT,

I'm with BATcher. Ever since I bought my last laptop with a 1st gen Core i5 the builtin graphics are good enough for what I do and with Win 8 I see even less need for a separate GPU. Now if I was a gamer, audio or video editor, graphics designer, etc. it would be money well spent. But for a lowly programmer and hacker not so much.

Same here, not rolling in money, and not needing to spend $500 on a graphics card. Heck I just spent a tad over $600 on an entire laptop for my granddaughter and she has a super PC, better than what I'm presently using. The only thing it's lacking is Blue Ray player, and it's got more than double the HD mine does, and USB 3. Geez!

If there's anybody here that is not on a pension, an allowance, a paper route job, and with whom actual performance is needed, give the 680 a look.
It's nearly top of the line for it's performance and price range.

I'm sure that there must be, at least some here, with whom computers are among their priorities.

No need to feel hurt because the more impoverished among us just don't see that paying a computer's price for a mere graphics card is a sensible way of spending the $huge won on the Mega Millions lottery!
