Tips for an XP user who just got Win7?

I recently bought a laptop with Win 7 home. Can't afford Pro, at the moment. Things in Windows 7 are different. Is there a way to have XP's classic start menu and control panel in 7? Etc.

Any other tips for transitioning would be great!

Microsoft just published yesterday a new 9-page Word document with lots of screen shots: Work Smart: Windows 7 New Features - Get Started which is a useful summary.

Only one way to access the control panel if you want it close at hand whether it's XP or Win7 and that's to go into the start menu customization and check Control panel to appear and option as a menu.
