    Faster booting!

    Hi All,

If you want your system to boot faster here's a good fix:
    Booting Faster

    Read the article through completely.

    My Results from today's run:
    BootTime.PNG
Note: Had to use excel clip since table feature didn't work!

    YMMV!

    Some Notes:

Depending on your PATH statement you could have some problems with finding the files for the xperf command. If you run the command from C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows Performance Toolkit then prefix the .etl files with C:\Windows\System32 and the .xml files with C:\Users\userid\Documents or some such (now you'll know where to find these files for the final step.

    Good Luck!

RG, do you think saving about a minute on your boot time is really that significant to go through all that ?

I usually just turn on my PC and then go walk the dog or get a cup of coffee and by the time I get back the pc is waiting for me and the dog is happier and I made tea because I was out of coffee..

    Bany,

I guess it depends on how often you reboot! I test a lot of software and play in the Registry quite a bit and I always reboot after an install/uninstall, etc., matter of habbit. Unfortunatley, I no longer have a dog to walk and I don't drink coffee...Diet Coke is my vice! YMMV

Well RG, I guess in your case the minutes would add up...

    I don't drink soda...
Some wine every now and then...

One thing I learned a long time ago is to NEVER work on my computer when drinking wine!
    And never do email !
