    Printer driver sans printer bloatware!

I've got myself a Canon Pixma 6150 MFP. It's a wireless connected printer/scanner/copier suitable for home use.

I've installed it on my PC fine, it's quite happy.

But the software it comes with is 135Mb large, starts at startup and sits in memory even when it's not required (I.E. Most of the time). It's horrible bloatware.

Ideally I'd like to have my wife's PC use the printer portion of the MFP as well, but without installing the bloatware - I.E. Just the printer driver.

Has anyone worked out how to extract and use just the printer driver from the large piece of Canon bloatware? Any hints or tips?

(Edit - I know I could use a tool / registry hack so the PC doesn't load it at startup, bu I'd prefer to not even laod the beast on her PC).

Have you tried MG6100 MP Driver from the Canon support site?

Can't you uninstall the software you don't want? Failing that, just disable it from starting via msconfig, autoruns, or what's in startup.
