modem and router both with working wifi

Surely one of you knows howto.
I have a bbox2 in bridged mode to act as a modem for my linksys e4200 router. Both have AN ACTIVE wifi. I use the bridge just to have better nat service of the router and in surplus i have a usb connection on it; The WIFI on the router cnnects to the WWW but it seems thet the wifi on the bbox2 does not.
I am not an expert at all and managed the brided after google-ing and reading a lot. Some trial and error also helped but so far I managed.
I would lie to get the wifi on the bbox2 also to connect to the ww ofr in the worst case i need to shut it down. This would als shut down a public net service that is connected wth t and that would be a pity.

Any readings or evern better guidelines on keeping the bbox2(wifi) in bridged mode conneting to the www are highly appreciated and welcome.

    Thanks.

Wifi from the bbox is already on the internet, but you may need to set IP addresses manually to use it.
Does the bbox wifi provide a DHCP address? If so it's not in bridge mode.
You should be able to use the bbox in normal mode and have the linksys also work as a router, but you'd need to use different IP ranges on the DHCP servers in the routers.

    cheers, Paul

    no succes so far

i cannot make it work, grr ..

    router - dhcp
xxbox - no dhcp fixed ip in range of router but not in its dhcp range subnet the same as the router
    mentions clearly bridge mode
    status connected
    network lan

connection to the bbox wireless is crippled
connection wireless ok , I can reach the webinterface of bbox on wireless (not with wire but that is normal I suppose)
    no connection to the internet.

there is something I must be doing wrong.
    Help most appreciated, thanks.

Because the bbox is in bridge mode it probably doesn't support using wireless as well.
The E4200 should have a guest mode that you can use for public access.
I assume you have the bbox plugged into the Internet port of the E4200?

    cheers, Paul

    Post

    hi Paul

could be but i am connecting locally via wifi with the bbox.
    The setup is like
wall outlet ----bbox( as modem)---linksysrouter (wireless ok)----- tv
no woreless to www |---------------- switch ----- pc
    |---------linksys wag160n adslgateway (as accesspoint) --- pc + wireless (ok)

I would rather think it is a question of settings or routing.
Still I will have to manage with what is working now

    thanks for the input
