I've never used Incredimail, but I have to believe the installation has been corrupted. Was it ever working properly? If so, then perhaps a System Restore from before the time the problem occurred might help, but if the problem is with Incredimail I suspect System Restore will not help. Has your friend tried to uninstall then reinstall the mail client?

Hi Ted, thanks for replying, the e-mail client has been working fine for about 2 years, he has tried a system restore but unfortunately this has not resolved the issue, I also suspect it is an issue with incredimail
I did not think System Restore would work either, as this generally is confined to Windows system files. He should be able to uninstall the app and reinstall while maintaining the integrity of his user files (emails, contacts, etc.) Is he certain he has not become infected? Might be worth exploring that possibility as well. Run AV and AM scans (full) with Malwarebytes Antimalware and a good AV product. I have also had good luck with Spybot Search and Destroy.

My friend has tried to run both Spybot and Malwarebytes but neither was able to complete successfully, I suspect his computer is seriously infected with something, maybe it will have to be wiped & start again
That is not good news at all.

I have had that happen on occasion using Thunderbird.
I found out that sometimes after d/l my messages there was a glitch on the mail server and they weren't deleted from my ISP server after downloading them so they ended up being downloaded again..
I think if you just leave it alone it will stop once they fix the problem on their end.

Just an update, we uninstalled incredimail and installed the newest version which seems to have cured the multiple email problems, just need to sort out some other problems with his machine now, thanks for your help, Steve
