Deleted filters: received error message from iTunes

Good Morning, Afternoon, Evening to All

I deleted upper and lower filters from registry yesterday, later accessed itunes and received
the following message. Note: I previously deleted these filters awhile ago and didn't receive
any notices from itunes, so wondering if deletion of filters is really the issue here.

The registry settings used by itunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. Please reinstall itunes. Note: for some odd reason, I have to manually download Apple updates on Dell.

    Thanks, in advance!

    Tea,
Hello ... What was the reason that you removed the "Registry Entries" ? The registry is the"Map" to your program...Once entries are removed your program will stop working or loose some function....So it's likely you will have to reinstall your program ... The only time i have removed some registry entries is to completely remove the program...either to get rid of it altogether, or to re-install the program because of a "Failed Install" Regards Fred

PS: When deleting Upper\Lower Filters you have to be careful and not remove the GUID (Parent)

    Hi Fred

The upper and lower filters where deleted to correct a problem with cd/dvd drive. The drive is now functioning properly. Yeah for that!

I wasn't certain if deletions directly resulted in message re: itunes since I've deleted them once before without incident. There have been issues with updating itunes in the past which seemed to start when I changed languages and installed French keyboard and chrome on Dell. This is the first time this particular message appeared. I will reinstall itunes later
today and hopefully the cd drive will remain intact!

PS: I believe the GUID is fine. Only deleted upper and lower.

    Thanks muchly!
