Unable to close camera download window

I don't know if this is the right place, but I'm unable to close the download window after downloading pictures from my camera to the computer. The pictures are downloaded OK and they are erased from the camera. I try to close the window and all I get is a message asking if I wish to cancel the download. I can send the message to the task bar and if I wish to download anymore pictures, I'm informed that the program is open and to close it first. The only way I can close it is to reboot. Any ideas?

Remove the camara from the system, then open taskmanager and choose "end task" from the "applications" menu.
Ignore any dialog other than that which prompts you to end the program.

I would say that even using the taskmanager to close such a device would be a little drastic.
I myself have a camara which I commonly use to transfer digital photos over with. (through a USB cable)
Never have I come across a situation where the autoplay would not close by simply disconnecting the camara and selecting "close".

Are you using some other form of software other than the basic autoplay to recognize your device?

hmm.. that might work but I couldn't imagine ending a task each time I transfer pictures. How about setting the camera as mass storage so it is read like a usb flash drive?
