Link a Web page in OneNote

I know I can drag the URL/icon into OneNote 2010, and it creates a link.

But is there a way to do it so that the page title comes with it for clarity?

So if I am at http://windowssecrets.com/ and when I copy the link I will see "Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, 7, Internet Explorer (IE), Firefox, Windows Update" as the active link text?

Copy the web address, go to the One Note Insert tab and click Insert Link.

Joe, it gives me a place to paste the URL, and then type a tile, but it doesn't as far as I see, actually carry over the link and the text. I suppose what I am asking for is what amount to the same thing I get if I right-click a page, and choose "Create Shortcut."

When I tried it the link, title & all, ended up in the notebook page that I had open.

I copied the URL, went into OneNote, opened a notebook, set my cursor on the page, clicked "Insert", clicked "Link", and another window pops up asking for a location etc.:

Nothing. Just fill in the "text to display" and the "address". Click OK. It should be inserted where your cursor was in the notebook. You just use the location in case you want to put it somewhere else.

Hey, thanks Joe. I use the One Note web app and never checked that part out. Turns out you can insert a link and "text to display" as well.

OK. I found I can get there with drag/drop, right-click and then edit as well. There doesn't seem to be a way to [directly] embed a shortcut without having to input though.

Too bad, that would be a time [and error] saver!

I would think you'd always have to input something. How would One Note know what text you wanted to use for the URL?

That's easy Joe: Default to the page title just like a desktop shortcut does. Then offer the same window in case I wanted to edit it -- or just let me rename it like I can a web shortcut.
