    Remove extra paragraph marks but preserve formatted outline

    I downloaded an outline from the internet, but between each numbered line there is an extra paragraph mark

    Afte a search I found...

    Find What: ^p^p
    Replace With: xxyxx

    ...then

    Find What: xxyxx
    Replace With: ^p

    This works, but it destroys the numbered style format.

    Any other suggestions or did I miss a step?

    JRB,

    The outline information is stored in the paragraph marks!
    If you delete them you're going to loose all the formatting.
    In any event this is going to be a tricky proposition since I don't know how the formatting was applied and/or how many levels there are, each level being a different format. You'd almost have to Find: with formatting but since the second {blank paragraph} mark may have a different format, most likely, it becomes very hard.

    You may be able to accomplish this with a regular expression where you find 2 and delete the second. Maybe someone here with more experience with regular expressions can chime in.

    You can use a wildcard Find/Replace, where:
    Find = ^13{1,}
    Replace = ^p
