I have Win 7 64 bit - runs fine, however several times a day I get a popup telling me that Windows doesn't know which program to use to open chkupd.
Well nor do I - I've never before heard of chkupd. Can anyone help please!

Neil,
I don't know the answer to your problem but it is a very bad idea to use your email address as your UserId. If I were you I'd change it immediately.![]()

Do you have Daemon tools installed. It includes chkupd.exe. If you have it installed and are not using it, uninstall it.

I don't think this "chkupd" (no extension) is likely to be from DAEMON Tools (which uses chkupd.EXE).
I think this one may be from a Scheduled Task titled Trusted Software Update: chkupd with no file extension
Bruce
RetiredGeek - yeah, thank you! I just overlooked that.
jwitalka and Clint - no I don't have Daemon Tools, but thank you for responding.
BruceR - You did it! I have a file opener tool from Trusted Software, and removing it appears to have solved the problem.
Thanks everyone!
Neil. please let me know which file opening tool and solve pop up Ckkupd problem and this file is under which folder. TQ Tan
Hi Tan - the software is Free File Viewer (http://www.trustedsoftware.com/) and it was located in folder Program Files (x86) - Neil
