Macro in Word 2010 to print in footer the page number

How to make a Macro in Word 2010 to print in footer the page number and amount of page. I have to repeat the instructions every time I need the page number in my document. All the help is welcome.

Not sure I see why a macro is necessary.

Insert tab on the ribbon >> Header & Footer >> Page Number >> Page X of Y

The only time you would need to do something different from jrb's recommendation would be if you already have text in the footer. In Word 2010 the Insert header/footer/page number commands replace current content. If you need to add page x of y to an existing header/footer, write back. Note, a macro is still a poor tool choice, though, because any Word document can have many headers and footers, each independent.

Indeed, if you add the page numbering fields to the appropriate template, they'll be added automatically to every new document based on that template.
