At work I have inherited some large Word 97 tables which I need to convert to Excel 97. Not usually a problem even for a novice like me, but it is not working. In Word, some cells have multiple lines of data within the cell, with a return (Enter) at the end of each line (within the cell). On conversion in Excel this seems to have the effect of starting a new row each time a return is encountered ( just like the end of row marker from the Word table). Is there a way to convert so that these multiple lines of data in a single cell from Word with a return at the end of each line become multiple lines within a single cell in Excel? Or close to it ? Any help much appreciated.
