Word 2007 - add bevel on shapes

I've inserted an oval and gave it a 12 pt outline thickness. I'd like to add a bevel to that 12 pt outline, but I can't seem to find that option in Drawing Tools. How would I do that?
I am using Word 2007, but I also have Word 2010 on another computer if need be.

In Word 2010 you can right click the oval and choose Format Shape > 3-D Format to get to the bevel command. I think this is the same in Word 2007

IMHO, generally the bevel looks more believable if there is no outline.

Also, is there a way to put a fill color in a text box, and have it fade to white near the outer edges of the text box?

That would be the 'Soft Edge' option in the Format Shape dialog

I can't seem to find that option. Right now I am looking in Word 2010. When I select the text box, I've looked in Shape Fill and Shape Outline. Where do I find the Format Shape dialog you are referring to?

Right click the shape and choose Format Shape > Glow and Soft Edges. Start by choosing one of the Soft Edges presets and modify further from there by dragging the slider
