    Volume control icon

Running Win XP SP3. I have lost my Volume Control icon from the taskbar. I have tried the Microsoft FixIt route to no avail.

HOW do I get it back.

    Many thanx for any suggestions.

One of the most common proposals I've seen is to update your sound drivers.

Go back into the control panel's sound section and have it put back in the taskbar.
If it's already checked, uncheck it then reboot and check it again.
