    W7 - TrueCrypt question

I run W7 Home Premium on my desktop. I have backup images on a 2nd internal drive, and on a LaCie
external drive. I've just installed TrueCrypt, created a volume on the LaCie, and just for grins copied a lot of my date into TrueCrypt.

Then I got to thinking, assume worst case and my desktop "blows up." Would I be able to access this TrueCrypt volume on another machine? Seems like such a basic question, but I'm posting it here and hoping someone can help me gain some knowledge and some peace of mind regarding this True Crypt volume?

    Thanks,
    Dick

The TrueCrypt container is simply a file. You can copy it anywhere you like, and access it there.

    From their website FAQ:

Will I be able to mount my TrueCrypt volume (container) on any computer? Yes, TrueCrypt volumes are independent of the operating system. You will be able to mount your TrueCrypt volume on any computer on which you can run TrueCrypt (see also the question 'Can I use TrueCrypt on Windows if I do not have administrator privileges?').

Just DO NOT forget the password, there is no practical recovery with it.

Or, rather, no practical recovery without it!
